Check Out the Durham Farmer’s Market

As fall is kicks off this Monday, don’t think your farmer’s market days are behind you. The Durham Farmer’s Market is open year round offering local, farm fresh food just a short drive from The Apartments at Palladian Place. Open on Wednesday’s from 3:30 – 6:30pm and Saturday’s from 8:00am – noon at the Pavilion at Durham Central Park in the heart of downtown Durham, the Durham Farmer’s Market is just one of the things that mFall events in DurhamFall events in Durhamakes Durham one of the best places to live!

Comprised of a community of farmer’s, growers, and crafters, the Durham Farmer’s Market is full of people selling handmade produce, goods, and foods, all from less than 70 miles away. With more than 50 vendors, you’re sure to find something you want, either for dinner, or for your home. With the weather getting cooler, this is the perfect place to find the ingredients for the healthy soup you’ve wanted to make, or for the decadent pumpkin desserts you’ve been pinning since summer! Stop by on a Saturday and you can pick up local meats, cheeses, eggs, and even grab fresh flowers or a potted plant to brighten up your apartment. Sounds like the makings of a great dinner party!

The Durham Farmer’s Market is located in the center of Durham, becoming a gathering place at Duhram Central Park. It’s one of the reason why we’re proud to be part of this community, because of the great people! The amazing vendors are providing local goods that are at their peak flavor, meaning you’re getting the fruits and vegetables that are the best around. Now that fall is here, stop by and pick up some local squash or greens and taste the difference! Can you imagine surprising your friends (or yourself) by baking a homemade apple pie with apples fresh from the farmer’s market?

End-of-Summer Activities in Chapel Hill & Durham

It’s been at hot summer and we hope you’ve taken full advantage of the pool here at Palladian Place! Now that it’s almost August, we want to make sure we’ve explored all summer festivities of Durham and Chapel Hill.  If you’re looking to soak up the last days of summer with some great local events here are a few ideas:

For a little culture:
  • MacBeth at Forest Theatre in Chapel Hill
    July 30 – August 1
    Grab a picnic or hit up the food trucks, and consider yourself super cultured as you experience one of Shakespeare’s classics. Gates open at 7pm and tickets are $17.
For an all American classic:
  • Durham Bulls Baseball vs. Gwinnett
    August 2
    Nothing says summer like a baseball game. Invite some friends to the ballpark and enjoy a great American pastime! Tickets start at $7 and the game begins at 5:05pm. Visit for more information
For getting in touch with nature:
  • Birds and Bees, Flowers and Trees – Pollinator Hike
    August 8
    Enjoy a beautiful hike through the North Carolina Botanical Garden! The event is free but make sure to bring sunscreen and water and pre-registration is required. The hike runs from 10:00 – noon, so you’ll have plenty of time to grab brunch afterwards!
